Flights cancelled and delayed due to Mt. Kanlaon volcanic ashfall

Following the recent eruption of Mt. Kanlaon, volcanic ash affecting airspace over parts of the Visayas has forced both Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific to cancel a number of flights for the safety of passengers and crew. Because volcanic ash is a serious hazard to aircraft, airlines are also inspecting engines on planes that may have been exposed before returning them to service.

How this affects NAIA passengers:

While most cancellations are on routes around Cebu, several flights to and from Manila (NAIA) have also been cancelled — including Manila–Cebu and Manila–Davao services on July 9 and 10, 2026. Additional delays, diversions, or cancellations may still occur while ash cloud conditions change and aviation authorities issue further guidance.

What passengers should do:

• Check your flight status before heading to the airport. See live departures, arrivals, and today's cancelled flights.
• If your flight is cancelled, both airlines are offering free rebooking, a travel voucher/fund, or a full refund through their official channels (Manage Booking).
