Field guide
eTravel
A quick guide to eTravel for international passengers at NAIA - who needs it, when to submit it, and what to do with your QR code.
eTravel is the Philippine government's online travel declaration system. It is required for many international passengers, but it is not required for domestic flights.
The form is quick, but it is worth doing before you leave for the airport. Once you submit it, you will get a QR code that may be checked before immigration.
You can use the official eTravel website or the eGovPH app. If you only need eTravel, you do not need to download the app - the website works well and is usually faster. You will need to create an account before submitting your declaration.

Who needs to complete eTravel?
If you are arriving in the Philippines on an international flight, you need to complete eTravel before clearing immigration. Foreign diplomats, their delegations, holders of 9(e) visas, and their dependents are exempt.
If you are leaving the Philippines, eTravel is required for Filipino citizens on international flights.
You may not be allowed to pass through the immigration checkpoint if you have not completed eTravel.
When should you fill it out?
You can submit your declaration within 72 hours before your flight. Try to do it before heading to the airport so you have time to fix mistakes.
How much does it cost?
eTravel is free. Be careful with websites that charge a fee or look like official government pages. Use only the official eTravel website or the eGovPH app.
Do you need to pay travel tax first?
No. You can complete eTravel before paying Philippine Travel Tax.
If you already paid your travel tax online, or if it was included in your ticket, it should appear automatically when you create your travel declaration.
Tips before you submit
Check that your name, passport number, flight details, and travel dates match your documents exactly. Small typos can slow you down later.
After submitting, take a screenshot of your QR code and keep it available offline.
If you spot a mistake, log back in and check whether you can still update your declaration before your flight.
Once eTravel is sorted, you may also want to plan how to get to NAIA and check whether you owe travel tax before heading to the airport.
Spot something out of date or off?
Better NAIA is maintained by a small volunteer team. If you've travelled recently and noticed a price, schedule, or route that no longer matches reality — or you want to contribute a guide of your own — please write in.
