UPDATE: CAAP restricts General Santos Airport (GES) operations until June 14 following earthquake
All advisoriesThe Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has issued a NOTAM limiting operations at General Santos International Airport (RPMR/GES) following an magnitude 7.8 earthquake that hit the city early morning today, 8th of June 2026.
From June 8, 2026 at 3:00 PM PHT until approximately June 14, 2026 at 6:00 PM PHT, Runway 17/35 is limited to government, military, and humanitarian flights only. (Restrictions were previously only until June 11, but was extended by CAAP).
This means commercial passenger flights may be delayed, cancelled, or unable to operate during this period.
Passengers with flights to or from General Santos are advised to check directly with their airline for the latest flight status before proceeding to the airport. Cancelled flights from Manila to General Santos can be found in our cancellations page.
